So I know that I’m kind of pulling into the station a little late on this one, but it’s too good to not talk about even after the fact.
I went to a party at Belle Jar vintage waaaaaaay back, maybe in December or January? My friends and I noticed the DJ right away for a number of reasons. She was beautiful, her vibe was free and full of life —- AND she was wearing this great red maxi apron dress thing. Too bad the batteries on my camera died… so all I have left are the mental records. I could tell she was the type that wouldn’t be weirded out by a total stranger walking up to her and telling her she was beautiful. So I did just that. Fresh off the boat from British Columbia, her first response was, ‘Oh my God, you’re so sweet! Thank you! Let’s be friends, I just moved here.’ A lover through and through.

She had a launch party for Golden in Chinatown a couple weeks ago and of course we went. It felt like the parties I used to go to in Detroit so I was a happy girl. We showed up towards the end, so we missed out on the spoken word and the live performance from Miss Dee! A good time nonetheless!
